Doing the job I am doing at the moment definitely puts everything into prospective.
We are here on this earth for a brief moment, one minute we are here the next we are gone, how ever you think of it, what your beliefs are, take this small window of life, grab it, squeeze the hell out of it, sometimes the journey is a struggle, thats ok because it doesn’t last forever.
You don’t take your ‘things’ with you, you don’t take your money, that is all insignificant in the end.
You do leave behind the way you have made people feel, the way you have treated people, the kindness you shown, the care you have taken, the words that you have said, the laughter you have started, the tears you have shed, the memories you have created.
What are YOU leaving behind on this Earth? x
Interpret this how you wish….
Spiralling out of control?…
Cluttered mind?…
Trapped?…
Light at the end of the tunnel?…
I don’t know, you tell me x
I thought I would post a picture for each season,
As you see above Winter, this picture was taken on my old iPhone when in the rare occasion we actually got snow here, the last time being 2010. We went on a snow walk to the woods, very atmospheric!
Following the cold dark Winters is Spring, this picture represents Spring well here for me, because I live in the countryside the farmers plant the maze and then cover it with plastic which leaves an effect around us like we are surrounded in sparkly water.
Then of cause my favourite time Summer, this is me doing exactly what I want to be doing all the time, say no more you get the picture!
Then Autumn, or how some of you call it Fall, I love the colours at this time of year. The seasons just keep going round and round regardless, moving and changing. One thing you can be assured of. x
I have had a week off on annual leave, (well except Wednesday I went in as a favour!) And I have been doing lots of dog walks in the wind and rain.
The first picture I went for the Arabian nights look trudging through the desert, except it was so cold on my delicate little face I needed to cover it. The second look is the Men in Black look, dressed in a alien rubber protection from acid slime suit.
Few things in the world are more powerful than a positive push, a smile, a world of optimism and hope, a ‘you can do it’ when things are tough.
My smiling bear picture was taken on one of my visits to Dartmoor zoo in Devon, England.
Again these pictures were taken on the same school trip, it was to enhance their creative writing, it is called the Ted Hughes trail. He is a local famous poet.
We are very lucky in the corner of our world, we have four main beautiful parts of nature, woodland, moorland, sea and countryside, all on my doorstep!
I was really struggling with what to blog today. In looking through my photos I came across this picture of the big brown bear that lives at Dartmoor Zoo, Devon.
Now I chose a bear because I am feeling a bit like a grumpy bear, I’m tired, and very stiff. I’m not sure why, it’s just one of those day where you feel like frowning at everything and telling everyone to bugger off, which is hard to do in the job that I do!
On the bright side, in this picture I notice our grizzly bear has a little smile, so maybe if he can find his smile I might find mine somewhere! X
My sunshine doesn’t come from the skies,
It comes from the love in my dogs eyes!
At last my OH got the hint that I wanted them to get their camera out again! And has taken the best picture ever of my hairy big boy!
This will look great framed on the wall!
look carefully into his eyes, you will see who he loves and protects!
I have cheated today, sorry, and not posted a photo I have taken (or OH) and stolen one from the tinernet!
I wanted to post this because I do believe it is very true!
Now without going into details, and I am sure many of you are the same, my life could have gone in a completely different direction, if I had allowed certain events in my life to effect me then goodness knows where I would be!
Today has been an exciting day!
Every day is an exciting new beginning!
A new opportunity!
Embrace it! X
A friend at work today gave me a present, he thought that it was going to a be a joke present, but actually it was quite fun!
He gave it to me because of me recently becoming unexpectedly a young grandparent. He thought I could spend my evenings under my blanket, with a hot water bottle, hot cocoa, Taggert on the TV, furry slippers, hair in rollers, doing my knit one, pearl one!
Well sadly enough I do do some of those activities already! And as you can see in the picture above, I thought I would remember how to cast on and do my first row! I’m not quite sure what it’s going to be yet, and to be fair the colour of the wool is yuk! But I might sit here and knit a couple more rows in a minute.
Sad really! This age thing, or the perception of age! What’s that all about?
Firstly, I’m a bit chuffed with myself that I’m on day nine of my challenge and I haven’t missed a day yet! Which is quite good for me because usually life takes over.
I’m feeling exhausted today, got a real Sunday feeling. Still have to do usual Sunday jobs.
What’s your usual Sunday jobs?
Mine, bins, washing, hoovering, washing and more washing! Lots of muddy towels and clothes at the moment! …. Oh and yes, walking the pooch!
I thought this picture sums up the day really, a typical winters day. This is another beautiful picture my OH took.
Note to OH when you read this…..start taking some pictures again, get your camera out of the cupboard, cos I’m missing your lovely pictures!
Love ya! X
Went this evening to visit my granddaughter, and my son of cause, he took this picture of her doing her first ballet pose! Obviously takes after her nana! (Still a bit weird saying that)
Her first tooth has just pushed through and is now standing up around the furniture, as you can see!
See you tomorrow! X
I have got out of the habit of blogging or taking pictures, you can mainly blame the dog for that, cos the time I was sitting and faffing on the computer is now taken up with walking or training the pooch! I also haven’t been tweeting or blipping, (sounds like some sort of disease) and I do miss it, so I’m going to try and get back on track with it all, even if it is a short post, I feel it is still important to have a record of things to look back on, cos I do enjoy looking back over photos and events that have happened. Maybe at the moment my life is not that advent full, which is not a bad thing, so maybe I haven’t got that much to share.
I am doing something exciting at the moment at school, I applied for an awards for all grant and got money to set up a community radio based at my school. It has taken a year to sort out but we are finally getting closer to our first broadcast on the big wide web. So soon I will be able to share a link with you all to have a listen to my Devonian tones! Now that’s scary! It is a get opportunity for the children and I hope in time will add to and benefit their learning. It is quite rare for primary children to experience this down this end of the world, normally secondary schools, and the possibilities for its use are endless. Also I am in the process of turning our school hall into a theatre space, adding curtains, lights, microphones, and being able to broadcast on the radio from the hall too. So that will benefit us especially with only six working weeks to our Christmas performance (sorry to mention the c word but we have started that in our school already).
So that’s work, well plus the normal day to day life of being a teacher, which a lot of you out there I know know what I mean by that. At theatre school I run on a Saturday we are thinking of doing the production Charlie and the chocolate factory which I love. I have also started up a twinkle toes dancing group for littles which seems to be going alright, lots of skipping, jumping, wafting and pretending.
My knees are really playing up, not surprised with all the dancing, PE and walking the pony, not getting any younger, I’m afraid to go the doctors because I know they will say I will have to have another operation and I really haven’t got time for that. So I think I will shut up and put up with that for a minute.
Ok that’s a general update now back to the photo challenge!
All the below pictures are the horizons that I see around me.
The first photo is of Dartmoor where I often go for long walks.
The second is the view of the horizon from my caravan in Looe, Cornwall.
The third of the horizon from my boat.
And the last, this is the horizon I see very day out of my front door!
When I’m on my walks every day I see the sun set and in the morning i watch it rise, that always blows my mind that when the sun sets we shall never see that day again, it’s gone, it’s history already, but the sun will always rise again on a new day, a new beginning and a new hope!
I am a very lucky girl to live in such a beautiful place, aren’t I x

Well the patterns I love are the patterns on big cats. These lovely fellas live just down the road from me at Dartmoor zoo, Devon, they are just beautiful aren’t they!
OH took these pictures on our last visit!
Thanks for dropping by! X
School holidays must be here, I’m posting on my blog!
It has been a bit of a stressful time of late and I am not quite ready to be telling the world why yet, but it will come!
As usual I have nothing profound or life changing to say, but I just wanted to touch base with you all (touch base? What’s that saying all about)
The picture above is from Dartmoor zoo, of the beautiful tigers there! OH took some great pictures!
Take some time for yourself today!
When was the last time you noticed the sound of your own breathing? X
Well I thought I had better let you all know I am still alive, as I haven’t blog for a wee while. You know how it is what with school, home and children, well they are not kids anymore, I should say young adults. I don’t get a huge amount of time for the old blogging! But as it is half term and peeing down with rain, so here I am.
I hate to tell you I haven’t got anything life changing or profound to say and this is unlike me blogging without anything interesting but I just felt like connecting with you!
Since I last was here I have seen the Olympic torch on the Plymouth Hoe a couple weeks ago. I’m not normally a person that would go and watch something like that but I went down to support My other half and ended up really enjoying myself and I was quite moved when I saw the torch.
My eldest is all loved up with his new girlfriend, so I have gained another teenager, she spends all her time here. I suppose I should class that as a complement.
My other son has been taking his GSCEs, which I must say he has taken in his stride, better than I thought he would. He is setting himself up to go to medical school. It’s all a bit weird really and it makes you reflect on your role as a mum when your youngest leaves school, doesn’t it. Things are going to change I think, routines are going to be different. When your children are at school everyday it’s a comfort because you know where they are, it’s the same everyday, but when they leave life becomes less predictable. So I think this is going to be a new chapter to motherhood.
Anyway, the little fella at the top by the way, is a fox from Dartmoor zoo. Foxes are such beautiful animals. Here’s a few more pictures for your pleasure, I always like blogs with lots of pictures to look at, probably because of my low concentration span!
Have a good day, thanks for popping in, and don’t be afraid to say hello! X
Went for a little 12 mile stroll on Dartmoor today! It was beautiful, a lovely sunny day. On my Easter holidays now, hurray, so have time for walks and blogging about walks. I thought the housework could wait one more day. Been to Cornwall to a spa for the weekend near St Austell, then dropped in at Looe on the way back home yesterday. So have got about a bit since friday haven’t I
Thanks for dropping by! Don’t be afraid to say hello, I don’t bite, well not much anyway!
If you were to walk anywhere in the world, where would it be? And why? X
Went for a walk up on Dartmoor today, as you can probably guess from the title! It was good to get out and blow away a few cobwebs (where ever that saying comes from). Walked only about 4 miles, so a short one today. I am very lucky that I have this out my back door.
I wish I had something deep and meaningful for you to read but I haven’t, sometimes your brain just won’t think that deeply. Some people are so creative in what they write, I wonder how long it takes them to think of stuff, does it just pop into their head. Some people just rant about anything, I’m not very good at ranting, wish I was better at really. I suppose because not a lot gets on my nerves. I like being asked questions because that stimulates my thinking.
So I won’t bore you anymore, you now can get back to what ever you were doing, thanks for dropping in!
